04. THE 2ND DG Visit – Rotary Club of Bali Nusa Dua Thursday, 18 of July 2024

Before DG visits, my amazing District Secretary/Admin PP Putu sent the files in the google drives to all Presidents and AGs – all information needed for a meeting. DG profile, District profile, Mars Rotary, District Officers, District Goals, District priority Programs and Vibrant Clubs. Include in the file also the reference of DG Visits.

“Do we have to go through all the presentation sent by google drive” that is the question from Pres Ian. I truly understand his concern about timing and effectiveness of the meeting. My answer is straight away – No- all those documents are for references and to be shared with the members.

Due to unpredictable traffic in Bali, PP Putu and I arrived at the beautiful Merusaka Nusa Dua hotel, way ahead of the meeting time. This gives us enough time to sit back in the lobby area, enjoying the view of the beautiful resort. 10 minutes into enjoying our time, Pres Ian and PP Donna showed up. Apparently, they were waiting at the gate, unfortunately, the District Governor and the District Secretary were too quick and managed to miss the welcoming team at the gate. Hahahhaha

The meeting of RC Bali Nusa Dua is always on time. This is something that most expat clubs managed to do, and most local clubs need to learn to do☺.   PP Hardy functioning as the SAA ( Sargent At Arms), successfully sold lots of raffles tickets and at the same time keeping the meeting in time. “DG do not sit yet… you will get fine if you sit before the President rings the bell” that was his kindness to makesure DG do not get fine for not following the house rules. Fyi, this afternoon, there are few attendees get fines. I think that house rule is very clever, by not sitting down, forces people to talk and mingle with another attendees of the meeting. Good for fellowship.

Pres Ian did the presentation introducing all his boards. Currently RCBND has 32 members  with 12 different nationalities.  Thank God.. at least they all speak English & some Indonesian. The club is planning to add at least 3 members. Personally, I think this club is capable of adding at least 5 new members☺.

RC of Bali Nusa Dua has always been a good supporter to the TRF and the last few years has always been awarded with 100%donation to EREY. My wish is for RCBND to keep increasing their TRF contribution, since the need for DDF (District Designated Program) has always been high. Fyi, RCBND is a club with lots of Global Grant project with value over USD200,000 per project mainly focusing in Cleft Lips & Palate Operations. For small projects they have prosthetic legs with 3D printing/wheelchairs program, supporting the HIV as well as some scholarship program.

During my presentation time, I encourage RCBND to collaborate more with other clubs in doing service and kindly ask for their participation for all area’s activities. I have also urged them to give extra focus to the Protecting the environment program as the priority focus of this year. The meeting adjourned on time (as expected), and as the special treat for District Governor, Pres Ian walked with me to the lobby and wait for my car. Opps.. better not get used to this kind of special treatment☺
